fleetwood mac will tour in 2013

Stevie Nicks confirms that Fleetwood Mac will tour in 2013

Stevie Nicks has revealed that Fleetwood Mac will reform in 2013 for a live tour.

The singer, who was speaking on US news channel CBS, confirmed that the band are planning to reunite once she and bandmate Lindsey Buckingham have finished touring their respective solo projects.

Asked about the chances of a new Fleetwood Mac tour, Nicks replied that it will happen "next year, so far". She added: "It's the plan. Because that's what we do. I do my thing. And Lindsey (Buckingham) is out doing his thing now. Everybody's on board."

Nicks' statement marks a turnaround from the band situation outlined by drummer Mick Fleetwood earlier this year. Talking to Playboy in March, he said: "I don't believe Fleetwood Mac will ever tour again, but I really hope we do. We have rehearsed it and prepared for it since 2010. We were supposed to tour in 2011, but we delayed it for a year to allow Stevie Nicks to support her solo record and for Lindsey Buckingham to do the same with his."

Nicks also spoke about the suicide of former Fleetwood Mac guitarist Bob Welch, who died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the chest last month (June). "I can't even tell you what in the world would have pushed him to do something that crazy," she said.

Nicks is currently touring the US in support of her seventh solo album, In Your Dreams, which was released in May 2011. Fleetwood Mac last toured as a four-piece - Nicks, Buckingham, Fleetwood and bassist John McVie - in 2009. The fifth member of the band's classic Rumours-era lineup, Christine McVie, retired from band duties in 1998.

Stephen Stills: 'Crosby, Stills And Nash won't make another album'

Stephen Stills has revealed that Crosby, Stills And Nash won't make a new studio album.

In an interview with www.musicradar.com, Stills explained that despite lengthy sessions with producer Rick Rubin for a proposed covers album, CSN won't record another studio album. A live DVD/CD, CSN 2012 is scheduled for release in America on July 17.

Stills said: "Well, there's the DVD, right, a live set. The thing's done, it's ready to go. But an album? We won't make another album, we won't finish one."

When asked what happened to the album CSN were recording with Rubin, Stills said: "You should ask David [Crosby]. I was getting along fine. I'm not inferring anything, but I… I had an idea for 20 years of making the album we wish we'd written. We started picking songs and stuff. Some of the choices Rick made were pretty off the wall, but we tried them. We sang 'Uncle John's Band' for an entire tour… and never really did understand what it was about! [laughs]"

Rolling Stone reports the Rubin project was scrapped in January.

weezer will tour australia
Weezer are coming to Australia at last!
by SALLY BAILEY

It has been sixteen long years since Weezer's one and only tour of Australia. After incessant rumours of potential tours, the resultant fervour that has taken over the nation's music fans remains unrivalled.

Greater still, their tour brings with it a follow thru from their recently announced US concept shows; performing a collection of greatest hits and rarities in addition to The Blue Album, from start to finish. This visit will be both a celebration for older fans, reveling in nostalgia from Weezer's storied Pinkerton tour of 1996, and an introduction to a younger generation working their way back from more recent albums. Such is the anticipation of this announcement that these shows are more than just a tour; they represent a culmination of years of collective longing. Weezer will play four Australian shows in January, starting at Brisbane Entertainment Centre on Sunday 13th January, Sidney Myer Music Bowl in Melbourne on Wednesday 16th January, Sydney Entertainment Centre on Saturday 19th January, and Perth Arena on Wednesday 23rd January.

Emerging in 1994 as four awkwardly geeky young men from California, Weezer have surpassed anyone's expectations and have gone from being the unlikely cult heroes of 90s alt-rock to consummate arena rock luminaries. Throughout this ever-evolving career, the band has cultivated an interactive relationship with their fans old and new. They have worked to create an unsurpassed experience for these fans both on and off the stage. Weezer's long anticipated return will finally bring this special experience to Australia.

blink 182 to tour australia without its drummer

Blink 182 Heading To Australia With or Without Travis Barker
by TIM CASHMERE

90s skate-punks Blink 182 are planning a return to Australia in early 2013, but it is unclear whether their much lauded drummer Travis Barker will be making the trip with them.

In an interview with Red Bull’s The Red Bulletin magazine (via NME), Barker said: “I’m contemplating getting knocked out and getting on a plane to Australia. I want to overcome that eventually. My kids are scared to death to fly. I want them to witness me overcome it.”

Recently he tweeted (and since removed): “Mark and Tom will be there in Feb of next year but with a fill in drummer cause I don’t fly. Sorry brotha.”

So it looks like Blink 182 will be heading down under early next year, but we’ll probably have to wait and see whether Travis makes the trip. Could they be on a certain “big” festival that lasts for a “day” and is “out” side?

Barker’s fear of flying stems from having survived a plane crash in 2008, which killed his friend DJ AM.

nick lowe to tour us this september

Nick Lowe to tour U.S.A. in September

by SALLY BAILEY

Nick Lowe has confirmed a string of solo acoustic headlining tour dates this September and October. The tour dates will include both east and west coast appearances.

Nick's latest recording, The Old Magic, was released in September 2011 to critical acclaim and was
hailed as "elegantly mature, astutely sophisticated" by the Los Angeles Times. Yep Roc (Lowes record label) has also reissued the longtime unavailable first two albums Jesus of Cool and Labour of Lust to great acclaim. In 2009, Lowe gave his first headlining performance at the Royal Albert Hall and in 2011 toured with Wilco to stellar reviews. Tone Deaf summed up Nick Lowes live performance in Melbourne in March 2012 perfectly, "In this mixed up word of slash genres, irony and cash-driven collaborations, Simple, unfussy pop tunes, and a masterclass in showmanship is more than welcome ."  You won't want to go home.

The Old Magic was recorded in London with Lowe's crack backing band anchored by Geraint Watkins (keyboards), Steve Donnelly (guitar), and Robert Treherne (a.k.a. Bobby Irwin, drums). Additional musicians include Ron Sexsmith, Paul Carrack, and Jimmie Vaughan among others.

The album was co-produced by Lowe, Neil Brockbank, and Treherne. Rolling Stone.com hailed Nick as "one of the sharpest lyricists in rock" when they premiered "Checkout Time" (watch below) from the new album.
