rolling stones' exile on main street hit cinema
The Rolling Stones' 'Exile On Main Street' tour film to hit cinemas

Footage from The Rolling Stones' 1972 'Exile On Main Street' tour has been remastered and will hit cinemas later this year.

An interview with Mick Jagger is also part of the cinema package.

Footage used in the film, titled Ladies And Gentlemen, The Rolling Stones, was captured at four shows in Fort Worth and Houston on the band's 1972 North American tour promoting 'Exile On Main Street'.

Frontman Mick Jagger said: "It's a full-on performance and energy levels are really high… everyone's very together."

Some of the hits captured in the footage include 'Brown Sugar', 'You Can't Always Get What You Want', 'Tumbling Dice' and 'Jumpin' Jack Flash'.

The screenings will run from September 16-29, with Vue, Picturehouse, and Showcase cinemas showing the film in the UK. See Cinerock.net for updates on times and locations.

Status Quo to re-release 'In The Army Now' for Help For Heroes charity

Status Quo are to release a new version of their 1986 hit 'In The Army Now' to raise money for the Help For Heroes and British Forces Foundation charities.

The song, which reached Number Two in the UK singles chart when it was originally released, has been re-recorded and now features new lyrics and backing vocals from the Corps of Army Music, reports BBC News.

The new version will be released on September 26. "It seemed like the right time to do this. This release is intended to show our support for the Allied Forces around the world but, in particular, of course, the British Armed Forces," said frontman Francis Rossi.

Help For Heroes is set to hold a charity gig at London's Twickenham Stadium on September 12, featuring the likes of Plan B and Robbie Williams.

phelps collins died

Funk legend Phelps 'Catfish' Collins dies aged 66

Parliament and Funkadelic guitarist Phelps 'Catfish' Collins has passed away following a battle with cancer. He was 66.

The Cincinnati guitarist was a key part of the funk scene in the late '60s and early '70s, playing with James Brown before joining Parliament and Funkadelic.

With Funkadelic, Catfish played on albums including 'America Eats Its Young' (1972) and tracks like James Brown's 'Get Up (I Feel Like Being A) Sex Machine' (1970).

His younger brother and fellow musician Bootsy Collins hailed him as the "happiest fellow I ever met on this planet" following the news of his death, reports Rollingstone.com. He added that his world "will never be the same" now that he has died.

Collins' death comes less than two months after Funkadelic's guitarist Gary Shider, who passed away from cancer on June 16.
