Culture Club postpones reunion tour: Need more time

Culture Club announced they are postponing a reunion tour, days after criticizing former frontman Boy George.

Three founding members of the '80s pop band - drummer Jon Moss, bassist Mikey Craig and keyboard player Phil Pickett - had been due to start a British tour Dec. 7, with new singer Sam Butcher replacing George.

A statement issued by Culture Club's manager, Tony Gordon, said the tour was being postponed until next year so the band could finish recording tracks for a new album.

No new dates were announced.

The band said recording was "taking longer than we planned, but we feel it's the right decision."

Band members said they wanted to begin the tour "with the release of a hit comparable to our worldwide hits 'Karma Chameleon' and 'Do You Really Want to Hurt Me."'

Moss and Craig said last week that they were fed up with criticism from Boy George, who declined to join the reunion tour and declared new singer Butcher "dreadful."

"The only person George loves is George," Moss said. "He's like a nightmare ex-wife," Moss said.

Duran Duran: New Album with Timbaland

Duran Duran have teamed up with acclaimed producer Timbaland on their upcoming album.

As previously reported on Gigwise, the eighties pop act had revealed that their new LP would take an urban edge.

Justin Timberlake has already been confirmed as writing and producing a track on the album, and now it's emerged Timbaland has helped out on three tracks.

Frontman Simon Le Bon told the BBC: "We've got some good stuff happening. We've done three tracks with Timbaland.

"We've collaborated in a writing and production manner on one of those tracks with Justin Timberlake.

"We've got a lot really hot producers who are hotly interested in working with us at the moment. We are in a very good space."

The band split with founding member and guitarist Andy Taylor last month.

Blue Nile: Paul Buchanan Announcing UK Tour

Paul Buchahan, vocalist with The Blue Nile, has confirmed a handful of UK shows, on which he will be accompanied by former bandmate Robert Bell and a new backing band.

The whereabouts of the trio's third member Paul Moore is unclear.

Billed as singing “the songs of The Blue Nile” the shows will showcase the band's electro pop and ambient folk catalogue as well as new solo material.

Stretchin across 25 years, The Blue Nile have released a mere four albums:”A Walk Across The Rooftops” in 1984; “Hats” in 1989, “Peace At Last” in 1996, and 2004's “High.”

The atmospheric pop songs and velvety vocals of the Blue Nile have amassed quite a celebrity fanbase over the last 20 years, with Peter Gabriel and Rod Stewart both counting themselves in as fans.

Paul Buchanan says of his songs, they have “always been a documentary of the imagination.”

Paul Buchanan flies solo-ish at the following venues this month:

London Theatre Royal Drury Lane (November 19)
Dublin Vicar Street (21 & 22)
Aberdeen Music Hall (24)
Edinburgh Usher Hall (25 & 26)
Perth Concert Hall (27)
