Gorillaz co-creator Jamie Hewlett is set to unleash a mural of giant proportions upon the London public showcasing his beloved Gorillaz.

The exhibition coincides with the release of their autobiography ‘Rise Of The Ogre'.

Hewlett whom won the ‘Designer Of The Year Award' this year, is responsible for the animation and creation of the ‘Band's characters, and his murals will appear around the Royal Festival Hall and South Bank Centre from 1pm today (October 27).

Taking advantage of the space available due to the Hall's refurbishment programme, the exhibition will be left up for viewing until February 2007.

‘Rise Of The Ogre' will receive a special treatment today as a ‘Pop Up Shop' will be assembled for one day only to sell copies of the new book. The location will be revealed through the aid of sign posts set up across bridges from Embankment to Waterloo.

The 300 page autobiography will take fans deeper into the mentality of the band as it is written through their point of view, and is set to document the band right from their conception back in 2000 right up to today.
