ABBA: Number One Collection

Universal announced the release of ABBA "Number One" Collection due on CD and DVD. The two releases share the same songs except for "Ring, Ring," which appears only on the DVD.

The criteria for what counts as a "number one" has not been announced; on the Billboard Hot 100, ABBA's lone chart-topper was "Dancing Queen" in 1976. But the group scored numerous No. 1 hits internationally, including seven in the United Kingdom.

The DVD is expected to feature a host of TV performances, including "Top of the Pops," the Norwegian show "Hei Sveis!" and the BBC's "Late Late Breakfast Show."

ABBA has been repackaged on numerous occasions in the past decade; the most successful such compilation, "Gold," has sold 4.2 million copies since its 1993 release, according to Nielsen SoundScan.

Genesis: Reunited Tour Next Year Without Gabriel

Genesis members, Collin, Rutherford, and Banks have agreed to reunited for next year reunion tour.

A spokesman said specific details of the tour and "long term plans" including possible new material would be announced in the next few weeks.

The group was formed by Rutherford, Banks and Gabriel at Charterhouse public school in the 1960s.

Collins joined as drummer in 1970 and initially the band enjoyed cult success.

However, Gabriel says to BBC yesterday that "There were conversations and I decided not to be a part of it." He also states that "I'm very happy for them," "It's not that I've ruled it out, but I've got some new material that I'll be working on." Says Gabriel.
