Since it was clearly said on the cover that it is 'Rock' Instrumental album, you might not notice that there is no R&B/soul instrumental presented in the previous 'The Sixties' album. But Rhino didn't miss them, because many of significant R&B instrumental pieces were gathered here on the fourth installation of the series. Although the quantity of songs is small, the quality of the selections here are really superb. It has all 3 of Booker T. & the MG's top10 hits. Several one-hit wonders and rarity are also presented including Hugh Masekela's "Grazing In the Grass", Mar-Keys' "Last Night", Alvin Cash's "Twine Time", Cannonball Adderley's "Mercy, Mercy, Mercy", and Ray Barretto's "El Watsui". |
