The second installment in Rhino’s definitive instrumental series concentrates on the 1960s decade - from the big hits of the decade like the Ventures’ “Walk, Don’t Run” to the novelty sound of the Fireballs’ “Bulldog”. Most of the tracks here are classic one-hit wonders such as Jorgen Ingmann’s “Apache”, Tornados’ “Telstar”, and Mason Williams’ “Classical Gas”. There also are rare tracks such as the Routers’ “Let’s Go (Pony)”, T-Bones’ “No Matter What Shape (Your Stomach’s In)”, and Ray Bryant Combo’s “The Madison Time, Pt.1”. It also has both hits of B. Bumble & the Stingers and Lonnie Mack, both are two-hit wonders. This is an excellent collection of instrumental gems of the sixties.
