The second installment of Ace Records’ new music collection series delivered more hard-to-find of not-so-famous hits from the pre-Beatles era.

These 28 songs indeed appeared on Billboard Top100 chart between 1956 and 1965. At first glance, you may feel that songs on this album are not rare tracks, since some artists here are definitely not no-name artists (Bobby Darin, the Lettermen, Bobby Vinton, etc.). But at second glance, you may not familiar with the songs’ title since they are not the well-known hits. In other words, this album is a collection of small hits and gems from the rock ‘n’ rolls period. There are also several rare one-shot artists such as Frank Gari’s “Utopia”, Kirby Stone Four’s “Baubles, Bangles & Beads”, Four Voices’ “Lovely One”, and Kitty Kallen’s “My Coloring Book”. It is a good album for music fans who love to hear forgotten gems of the oldies period.
