As we entered 21th century, Rhino Records decided to released another album of Dr. Demento's novelty collection. "Dementia 2000" is a 42-song collection selected from the 30-year span of his radio show.

Truthfully, not only there are more songs than the previous album, the selections here are also better. There are a lot of classics here such as Mel Blanc's "Daffy Duck's Rhapsody", The Coasters' "Charlie Brown", and Mrs. Miller's "Downtown". There are some rare one-shot artists such as Jim's Big Ego's "Stress", Phil Harris's "The Thing", Jack Blanchard & Misty Morgan's "Tennessee Bird Walk", and Meri Wilson's "Telephone Man". Some songs here can be called out-of-this-world, yet really fun to listen; such as National Lampoon's lone chart singles "Deteriorata", The Dead Alewives' geek world "Dungeons and Dragons", Alfred E. Neuman's no comment "It's A Gas", and Travesty, Ltd.'s drug show "Rock and Roll Doctor". Other highlights include Corky & the Juice Pigs' gay fantasy "Eskimo", Ivor Biggun's infamous "Bras On 45", Bowser & Blue's Dylan parody "Polka Dot Undies", Big Daddy's somewhat disgusting "Hamster Love", The Arrogant Worms' anti-vegetarianism "Carrot Juice Is Murder", and C.W. McCall's last record "Comin' Back For More".

It is another great novelty records collection that would show you the insanity side of the music like you never see before.
