American composer Mark Snow has been working on television series and film soundtracks since the late 1970s. He was best known for a theme music for the horror/sci-fi television series The X-Files. This spooky theme later became no.2 hit in UK chart in 1996. He continued to produce many more soundtracks and theme music, but none came close to the success of his sci-fi theme.
Safri Duo was an experimental project of two Danish electronic percussion artists, Uffe Savery and Morten Friis, since the 1990s. Their instrumental track "Play-A-Live (The Bongo Song)", which combined tribal drums and electronic instruments, became one of the best selling song in Europe in 2000. The song hit the charts all across Europe and won a Danish Music Award in 2001. It was their only international hit so far.
Torbjørn Brundtland and Svein Berge was a Nonrwegian electronic duo since the late 90s. They released their debut "Eple" in 2001 under the British big beat label 'Wall of Sound'. This dreaming electronica originally became number 122 on the UK Singles Chart, but reached a new peak of number 16 when re-released in February 2003. It was the duo's only big hit to date.

Baauer was a music producer from Brooklyn who specialized in combining the crunk hip-hop, dance music, and samples from video-sharing sites. His biggest hit was "Harem Shuffle" which became an internet sensation and topped the Billboard chart in 2012. It was the last instrumental song to top the Billboard chart and Baauer's only hit to-date.
Martin Garrix was one of the Dutch DJs who rose to international fame during the bloom of electronic dance music in the early 2010s. In 2013, his infectious dance groove "Animals" became an international hit across Europe. The song topped the UK chart as well as no.21 spot on Billboard Pop chart. Garrix continued to create more hits in Europe, but still could not make another hit in US so far.
