Miley Cyrus and The Flaming Lips share new 'Dead Petz' video 'Lighter' - Watch!
Miley Cyrus and The Flaming Lips have released a technicoloured new video from their 'Dead Petz' project, 'Lighter'.
'The Dead Petz' are currently on tour, and are selling exclusive vinyl versions of their joint release at shows. The 'Milky Milky Milk' tour visits New York, Washington, Philadelphia and Boston before Christmas. Miley Cyrus wore a dildo during the tour's two-hour opening show in Chicago.
At one point Cyrus mimed suckling on her 6'7" dancer's breasts, which were covered up with glittery bags of money. At another she came to the front of the stage where fans stuffed dollar bills in her mouth. Cyrus also took to the piano to sing about her dead fish, ripping out her fake dreadlocks. Dan Deacon is the opening act on the tour.
'Lighter' is the 15th track on the 'Miley Cyrus and The Dead Petz' experimental album, released back in August.
Michael Eavis recently stoked rumours of a Cyrus appearance at Glastonbury next year, telling Loaded:
"People keep asking me if Miley Cyrus is playing, I can't say 'Yes' or 'No' to any name, because it only adds to the speculation about who will be appearing," he said, before adding: "I think everyone has a place at Glastonbury".
Eavis continued: "We have 20 different stages at Glastonbury, and that's one of the things that helps make it the greatest show on earth. We've had Kanye West, Beyoncé, Metallica and Jay-Z headline Glastonbury, and that's shown that everyone is welcome."
Cyrus posted the video for 'Lighter' on her Facebook. Watch below:
Fuck yeah! After our 1st show in Chicago (which was totally turnt) we loved seeing y'all singing along to all the Dead...
Coldplay have today announced the Latin American and European legs of next year’s A Head Full Of Dreams Tour, with 20 stadium shows confirmed across 14 countries in Europe and Latin America.
This is the band’s first world tour since the 2011/12 Mylo Xyloto Tour, which was seen by more than three million people in five continents. It includes their first Latin American shows since 2010, with the band’s first ever dates in Peru.
A Head Full Of Dreams (out December 4) is the vibrant follow-up to 2014’s fragile and lovelorn Ghost Stories, Coldplay’s sixth consecutive worldwide chart topper. The band chose not to tour Ghost Stories and headed straight back into the studio to record A Head Full Of Dreams.
Says Coldplay’s Chris Martin: “I think that not going on tour with Ghost Stories was one of the best decisions we ever made, because it gave us such pent-up energy in the studio and completely reignited everyone’s desire to go around the world and play music. A Head Full Of Dreams was written as a record to be performed live. We can’t wait to do that.”
The dates are as follows:
Thursday, March 31 Estadio Unico de La Plata, Buenos Aires, AR
Sunday, April 3 Estadio Nacional, Santiago, CL

Elton John was left floored when bosses at his longtime label Capitol Records dumped him after hearing his new album, Wonderful Crazy Night.
The rocker was really proud of the "upbeat" songs on his first new album since 2013's The Diving Board and felt sure the record executives would too - but they didn't hear enough commercial potential, and dropped the star.
"I was gutted, I have to say," Elton tells Rolling Stone magazine. "I knew it was a f**king good record."
The singer/songwriter eventually signed with Island Records and was thrilled when label bosses there seemed thrilled about the album, which is scheduled for release in February (16).
"I can ask for no more," he adds.
But he does accept Wonderful Crazy Night isn't going to be among his bestselling albums, adding, "I follow the charts and know everything about this business. I'm not expecting to sell a million records."
Meanwhile, Elton's longtime songwriting partner Bernie Taupin insists the rocker will never retire or quit making new music, like pianist pal Billy Joel, no matter how much an album flops.
"You can be Billy Joel and stop making records, but if you have that drive and passion, you're going to do it whether it sells or not. It's there inside of you, and if you don't get it out, you're going to explode."
Bernie, who has provided lyrics to Elton's melodies for decades, admits he was thrilled by the new project when his partner came to him with an idea about an album full of uplifting new songs.
"I think he felt 'There's enough pain and suffering in the world without my contributing to it'."
The Cure are on their way to these shores again for a 27-date North American tour that will include three nights at the Hollywood Bowl and three at Madison Square Garden.
The British band, led by Robert Smith, says that they will “explore 37 years of Cure songs” and include “hits, rarities, favorites and as-yet-unreleased tracks in a brand new stage production that promises to be the ‘must see’ show of the year.”
Since 1979, the band has released thirteen studio albums with the last being 2008’s 4:13 Dream. In the U.S., they are probably best known for their songs Lovesong, Friday I’m In Love and Fascination Street.
Scotland’s The Twilight Sad will open.
