justin bieber release videos for all tracks on purpose album

Justin Bieber releases new videos for every track on 'Purpose' - Watch!

Justin Bieber has released new music videos for every song on his latest album 'Purpose', including two alternate takes for those tracks that already had videos widely shared.

The singer dropped the new footage at hour intervals on Saturday after premiering the full-length film - of which the seperate videos combine to make up - at Staples Center in Los Angeles the night before, reports Billboard.

Speaking in his NME cover feature, Bieber revealed he's been working with rapper Kanye West on new music. He said, "Out of anyone in the industry who is creative, he really gets me."

"His advice is always just, 'Make music that’s so good people can’t hate on it,'" the singer added.

He went on to discuss the isolating nature of fame, saying he "just wants people to know I’m human. I’m struggling just to get through the days. I think a lot of people are."

"You get lonely, you know, when you’re on the road. People see the glam and the amazing stuff, but they don’t know the other side. This life can rip you apart," he added.

Watch all of the 'Purpose' videos in order below.

the zombies release moving on video

The Zombies Release an Official Video For Their Track "Moving On" - Watch!

Over the last eleven years, the Zombies doubled the number of albums they have put out over the previous 39 years.

During their original run, they only released The Zombies (1965, known as Begin Here in the U.K.) and the classic Odessey and Oracle (1968). Then, in an early 90's reunion, they added New World (1991). Now, since once again becoming The Zombies in 2004, they've put out As Far As I Can See... (2004), Breathe Out, Breathe In (2011) and Still Got That Hunger, which came out on October 9.

The current band, which includes original members Colin Blunstone and Rod Argent along with Tom Toomey and Jim and Steve Rodford, have released a video for the new track Moving On which they recently shot in New York.

Argent told Guitar World about writing the song. "I actually started this song in 1977 when I wrote one couplet upon hearing of Elvis' death. For some reason it has stayed in my mind all these years – although it's no longer about Elvis. When I was writing material for this record, for some reason I couldn't get that couplet out of my mind and I developed the whole song lyrically and musically."

roger waters to release solo album in 2016

Roger Waters says he'll release first new solo album for 24 years in 2016

Roger Waters is aiming to release his fourth solo record some time next year, followed by an arena tour.

The Pink Floyd man told Digital Spy that he is "in the middle of making it now" and that it's a concept album.

He went on to explain the story, which involves a granddad and his grandchild searching for certain answers. "Why are we killing the children? That's what it's about," he confirmed to Digital Spy.

He also revealed that some of the songs are brand new, while others are from as far back as 15 years ago, and that he will likely tour the album: "I'm toying with the idea of trying to make this thing into an arena show."

Last month Waters spoke out about the American elections, expressing his support for Bernie Sanders, whilst admitting he fears the actions of fellow democratic frontrunner Hillary Clinton.

Waters is known for being an outspoken political activist, particularly when it comes to his support of Palestine (he slammed Bon Jovi for their appearance in Tel Aviv), as well as in his backing of American whistleblower Chelsea Manning.

On November 20 Waters will release a live album from his time spent touring Pink Floyd's 'The Wall' as a solo artist and he also revealed to NME that he's working on a stage version of the record with one of the writers behind the film Billy Elliot.

"We've done workshops with it as a theatrical piece, and I suspect we'll see it sooner rather than later," Waters said. "I've been working with Lee Hall, who did Billy Elliot, writers and producers, and I think that team will put it on the stage first in London, then New York and then maybe it'll tour. People have been reduced to both laughter and tears in the workshops, which is a great sign."

emitt rhodes to release his first album in 43 years

Emitt Rhodes to Release His First Album in 43 Years

Emitt Rhodes released four solo albums in four years back in the early 70's before dropping out of the public eye.

The singer, songwriter, producer and multi-instrumentalist began his career in the Los Angeles garage band The Palace Guard and the psychedelic rock group The Merry-Go-Round before signing with ABC/Dunhill as a solo artist. His self-titled debut album, which he recorded in a studio he built in his parent's garage, was critically acclaimed and sold well enough to reach number 29 in the U.S., spawning the minor hit Fresh As a Daisy (1970 / #54).

Rhodes' albums were completely self-made affairs with Emitt playing all of the instruments and recording all of the vocals which, along with writing the material, proved to be a daunting task. His contract called for six albums in three years but the pace was two much and, after four releases, Rhodes dropped out of the business of performing, instead choosing to open his own studio and working as a engineer and producer for Elektra Records.

On February 26, 2016, Omnivore Recordings will release Rainbow Ends, Emitt Rhodes’ first new studio album in 43 years, on CD, Digital and gatefold, colored vinyl. A PledgeMusic campaign has been set up for pre-orders, offering exclusive collectibles, the album itself, and even a day in Rhodes’ studio. Details are available at www.pledgemusic.com/emittrhodes.

After connecting with producer Chris Price in 2013, Rhodes revived his home studio with help from Price and an all-star band, all of whom had been enamored of Rhodes’ work: Roger Joseph Manning Jr. and Jason Falkner (both solo artists, members of Jellyfish, and currently in Beck’s studio and touring band), indie producer and musician Fernando Perdomo, Rooney’s Taylor Locke and New Pornographers’ drummer Joe Seiders. They would cut the new record live in that space.

More special guests appeared to make this momentous release even more special: Aimee Mann, Susanna Hoffs (Bangles), composer and producer Jon Brion, Wilco’s Nels Cline and Pat Sansone, Bleu, and Probyn Gregory and Nelson Bragg from Brain Wilson’s band, among others. What was achieved is more than what folks thought would ever happen. They made Emitt’s first full-length in more than four decades.

Rainbow Ends is the album generations have been waiting for. Eleven new tracks for longtime fans who’d held onto their out-of-print ABC albums, for those who found out about Rhodes via Lullaby being featured in The Royal Tennenbaums, and for the uninitiated who’d heard their favorite artists and friends rave about his small, but truly vital and influential catalog.

An Emitt Rhodes showcase at SXSW 2016 will be a highlight of the annual music festival, and more dates are in the works.

Producer Price says, “I view this as a continuation album, meaning it isn’t meant to be recreating the sound from his first record, but instead what he might have sounded like after his third album, Farewell to Paradise, if he kept making music in the mid-to-late ‘70s.”

According to Rhodes, “I had a spurt there, you know. I just wrote a whole bunch of songs. I’m just gonna write what my heart tells me, because that’s the only thing that really matters, isn’t it? Sometimes you don’t know, and then the light goes on and you do know.

“The music is very good on this record. I think that these guys are all wonderful players and there’s all sorts of interesting stuff. I hope people like it, and I want you young guys to be able to get your due.

“I think whenever it happens, it happens on time.”

The track list:

  • Dog on a Chain
  • If I Knew Then
  • If It Isn’t So
  • This Wall Between Us
  • Someone Else
  • I Can’t Tell My Heart
  • Put Some Rhythm to It
  • It’s All Behind Us Now
  • What’s a Man to Do
  • Friday’s Love
  • Rainbow Ends

allen toussaint died at 77

Allen Toussaint (1938 - 2015)

Legendary New Orleans singer, songwriter and musician Allen Toussaint died on Tuesday in Madrid, Spain at the age of 77.

Toussaint was touring Europe and had played Madrid's Lara Theatre on Monday night. Emergency workers were called to his hotel room where he was revived; however, he stopped breathing on the way to the hospital.

Self taught on the piano, Toussaint got his first break at the age of 17 when he sat in for Huey "Piano" Smith in Earl King's band during a performance in Prichard, AL. Throughout his career, he acknowledged Professor Longhair as his main influence in everything he did in music.

Toussaint recorded for a number of labels including Minit, Instant and RCA. It was on the latter that he released his first album as Al Tousan, an instrumental set that included the song Java, co-written with Alvin Tyler and Freddy Friday. The song would go on to become a major hit for Al Hirt.

Although he did record his own work, his main success came during the 60's as a songwriter and studio musician. Among his many songs:

  • Mother-in-Law (Ernie K. Doe / 1961 / #1 Pop / #1 R&B)
  • I Like It Like That (Chris Kenner / 1961 / #2 Pop / #2 R&B // Dave Clark Five / 1965 / #7 Pop)
  • Fortune Teller (Benny Spellman / 1961 // Robert Plant & Alison Krauss / 2007)
  • Lipstick Traces (On a Cigarette) (Benny Spellman / 1962 / #80 Pop / #28 R&B // O'Jays / 1965 / #48 Pop / #28 R&B)
  • Pain in My Heart (Otis Redding / 1963 / #61 Pop / #12 R&B)
  • Java (Al Hirt / 1964 / #4 Pop / #1 Adult Contemporary)
  • Whipped Cream (Herb Alpert & the Tijuana Brass / 1965 / #68 Pop / #13 Adult Contemporary)
  • Ride Your Pony (Lee Dorsey / 1965 / #28 Pop / #7 R&B)
  • Get Out of My Life, Woman (Lee Dorsey / 1966 / #44 Pop / #5 R&B)
  • Working in a Coal Mine (Lee Dorsey / 1966 / #8 Pop / #5 R&B)
  • Freedom For the Stallion (Hues Corporation / 1973 / #63 Pop / #9 Adult Contemporary)
  • Yes We Can Can (Pointer Sisters / 1973 / #11 Pop / #12 R&B)
  • Play Something Sweet (Brickyard Blues) (Three Dog Night / #33 Pop)
  • Southern Nights (Glen Campbell / 1977 / #1 Pop / #1 Adult Contemporary / #1 Country)
  • We Got It (IMx / 1995 / #37 Pop / #11 R&B)

During the 60's, he recorded with the likes of Lee Dorsey and Chris Kenner while, in the 70's, he moved to a more funky sound with the Meters and Dr. John among others. As an arranger, he worked with the Band on the album Cahoots and their The Last Waltz concert and film.

Toussaint also produced numerous albums for New Orleans based artists at his studio, Sea-Saint where Paul McCartney and Wings recorded their album Venus and Mars. Working with artists like Lee Dorsey, the Meters and Dr. John, he would branch out in the 70's outside of NOLA working with artists like Labelle on their album Nightbirds and the smash single Lady Marmalade.

Allen's recording career took off during the 70's with albums like From a Whisper to a Scream (1970) and Southern Nights (1975). In 1994, he joined NOLA musicians Earl Palmer, Red Tyler, Lee Allen, Dr. John and Edward Frank to record as Crescent City Gold on the album The Ultimate Session.

Toussaint's career grew to, maybe, it's greatest height over the last two decades as he recorded with numerous artists from Eric Clapton to Elvis Costello and saw much of his early music sampled on Hip-Hop recordings. In 2005, he was flooded out of his home and studio by Hurricane Katrina, relocating to New York City where he became even more in demand both in the studio and as a live performer.

Among Toussaint's many honors was induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1998, the Louisiana Music Hall of Fame in 2009 and the Blues Hall of Fame in 2011. He has also received the National Medal of Arts.
