bon jovi reveal a teardrop to the sea video

Bon Jovi reveal "A Teardrop to the Sea" - Listen!

Bon Jovi revealed another track from their upcoming album Burning Bridges on Friday with A Teardrop From the Sea.

Bridges is being called a "fan album" instead of a full-fledged new album. Jon Bon Jovi said of the release "It’s songs that weren’t finished, that were finished, a couple of new ones like the one we released as a single, We Don't Run.

"It’s sort of a hint as to where we’re going musically – but the new album, the real new album, will be early next year."

Parton – who also sang backing vocals on Emmylou Harris's 1977 version of 'When I Stop Dreaming' – took to Twitter yesterday (August 7) to post a link to the new track, adding, "It was a treat to sing this Louvin Brothers classic with Don Henley".

In addition to Dolly, Henley will be joined on 'Cass Country' by Mick Jagger, Miranda Lambert, Merle Haggard, Martina McBride, Trisha Yearwood and Lee Ann Womack. The deluxe edition of album will include covers of Jesse Winchester's 'Brand New Tennessee Waltz' and Billy Sherrill's 'Too Far Gone'.

"I kind of started the album by recording those cover songs," Henley said. "It got me started and inspired me to try to measure up to those songs. I'm not comparing my stuff to them, but they were the catalyst for some of the other stuff."

the zombies to release their sixth album

The Zombies To Release Sixth Album in 50 Years

 by PAUL CASHMERE

Even though the Zombies have been together, on and off, for 64 years, they’ve only released five albums. Their sixth, Still Got the Hunger, will be out on October 9 via The End Records.

The results of a PledgeMusic campaign, the album was produced by Chris Potter who won the Best Producer award at the Brits in 1998 for the Verve album Urban Hymns and has also worked with U2, the Rolling Stones, the Clash and Paul McCartney.

The band said in a statement “We couldn’t be more excited. We’re really looking forward to this new chapter for The Zombies. Not only are we going to be touring constantly over the next few months, including a historic tour with original members, but we have this new album coming out and a lot of very exciting things are happening.

“This couldn’t be possible if it weren’t for the incredible fans who have stuck by us for so long. Thank you to everyone for the constant love and support, it’s because of you that we’ve Still Got That Hunger, so thank you all.”

Rod Argent added “We’re really excited to be signing our new album to The End Records, it somehow seems fitting that it should be released on a Brooklyn based label, as our very first American concerts way back in 1964 took place at The Brooklyn Fox Theatre.”

The current lineup of the Zombies is original members Colin Blunstone and Rod Argent along with Tom Toomey, Jim Rodford and Steve Rodford.

The Zombies’ studio albums:
Begin Here (U.K.) / The Zombies (U.S.) (1965)
Odessey and Oracle (1968)
New World (1991)
As Far As I Can See… (2004)
Breathe Out, Breathe In (2011)
Still Got That Hunger (2015)

shawn colvin to release cover album

Shawn Colvin to Release Second Covers Album of Her Career

Shawn Colvin is a superb songwriter, but she also knows how to appreciate the writing of others.

In 1994, she released Cover Girl, her first album of covers and her third album overall. On September 25, she returns with Uncovered, her ninth album and the second to contain just covers of classic songs.

This time around, Colvin presents her versions of songs by such luminaries as Bruce Springsteen, Paul Simon, Stevie Wonder, Tom Waits and Robbie Robertson. Joining her on the album are David Crosby on Baker Street and Marc Cohn on Gimme a Little Sign.

Colvin explained how the new set is different from her 1994 release. "The songs on Cover Girl were actually staples of my live act at the time. This wasn’t the case with Uncovered. Some of these songs I knew how to play, others I learned for the purpose of recording this album. Until you learn a song, you don’t know if you can bring anything to it. Twenty-one years later, even though I am primarily known as the composer of my material, I’ve never tired of learning covers, and I had more than a few in the hopper. It seemed fitting to get together with Steuart once more and record a follow-up to Cover Girl."

She continued "The title Uncovered has a few meanings. It means uncovering as in an excavation, and uncovered in the sense of vulnerability. This album was made very spontaneously, we didn’t over-think or overdub it. One of my friends said to me, ‘You sound so exposed on this record!’ and I think that’s the thematic key, vulnerability."

Eagles guitarist Steuart Smith, who also produced Cover Girl, returns to the production chair for Uncovered along with Stewart Lerman.

The track list:

  • Tougher Than the Rest
  • American Tune
  • Baker Street
  • Hold On
  • I Used to Be King
  • Private Universe

david gilmour said pink floyd are over

David Gilmour confirms Pink Floyd are over

David Gilmour has confirmed that Pink Floyd are over.

The 69-year-old guitarist said it would be "fakery" to reform with his two surviving bandmates, Roger Waters and Nick Mason, explaining that the iconic rock band had "run its course."

"I'm done with it. I've had 48 years in Pink Floyd - quite a few of those years at the beginning, with Roger," Gilmour told Classic Rock Magazine.

"And those years in what is now considered to be our heyday were 95 per cent musically fulfilling and joyous and full of fun and laughter. And I certainly don't want to let the other five per cent colour my view of what was a long and fantastic time together."

"But it has run its course, we are done - and it would be fakery to go back and do it again."

David Gilmour joined Pink Floyd in 1967, two years after the band's formation in 1965 by then students Syd Barrett, Nick Mason, Roger Waters, and Richard Wright. Syd Barrett left the group in 1968 and passed away in 2006. Rick Wright died in 2008.

"To do it without Rick would just be wrong," Gilmour explained. "I absolutely don't want to go back. I don't want to go and play stadiums ... under the [Pink Floyd] banner. I'm free to do exactly what I want to do and how I want to do it."

"Obviously I accept there are people who want to go and see and hear this legend that was Pink Floyd, but I'm afraid that's not my responsibility."

"It's just a pop group. I don't need it. I don't need to go there. I'm not being coy or difficult - I just think that at my age I should do whatever I really want to do in life."

Gilmour recently revealed details of his new solo album 'Rattle That Lock', which will be released on September 18 and is the follow-up to 2006's 'On An Island'. Watch the animated video for the album's title track, 'Rattle That Lock' here

He plays three consecutive nights at London's Royal Albert Hall on September 23, 24 and 25 and will play his first North American live dates for 10 years in March and April 2016.

Gilmour has not toured since 2006, although he did recently join Bombay Bicycle onstage during their gig at London's Earls Court Arena in December, where he played lap steel guitar on the London's band's own song 'Rinse Me Down', as well as an acoustic version of Pink Floyd's 'Wish You Were Here' from the 1975 album of the same name.

David Gilmour will play:

Pula Arena, Croatia (September 12)
Verona Arena, Italy (14)
Florence Teatro Le Mulina, Italy (15)
Orange Theatre Antique, France (17)
Oberhausen Konig-Pilsener-arena, Germany (19)
London Royal Albert Hall, UK (23 – 25)
London Royal Albert Hall, UK (October 2 - 3)
