 by LIONIE COOPER
Depeche Mode have shared a live performance of 'Enjoy The Silence' from their forthcoming Anton Corbijn shot concert film.

The DVD will feature a 21-song set spread over two discs, plus behind-the-scenes footage, interviews, extras and a two-song acoustic session.

"Depeche Mode has a strong following in the German capital and the film tries to capture the highlights of these concerts as well as that special connection through interviews with fans and bands alike," Corbijn said of the film.

Corbijn has worked with the band several times in the past, in particular directing the 'Personal Jesus' video back in 1989. The film will be released on DVD via Columbia Records on November 17, following on from last year's Delta Machine album.

bette midler sing waterfalls

Bette Midler Sings TLC's "Waterfalls" From Her Album "It's the Girls!" - LISTEN!

The majority of Bette Midler's new album, It's the Girls!, concentrates on covers of songs by the great female vocalists of the 40's through the 60's with one notable exception, her take on TLC's 1995 hit Waterfalls.

Here, Midler gives the song a slowed down take unlike much of the album that evokes the feel of the original recordings. The singer told Billboard "Waterfalls was a heartbreaker, especially if you were a mom, and it had a big effect on me. I never thought I would have the nerve to sing it, but we had an idea for it that works, and I am so glad I took the chance."

It's the Girls! will be out on November 4.

liam gallagher split beady eye

Liam Gallagher Splits Up Beady Eye

 by PAUL CASHMERE

Liam Gallagher has split up his band Beady Eye after 5 years.

Beady Eye was basically Oasis without Noel Gallagher. The band featured ex-Oasis members Gem Archer, Andy Bell and Chris Sharrock. Jay Mahler of Kasabian joined the touring line-up of the band in 2013.

Beady Eye formed in 2009 and released two albums ‘Different Gear, Still Speeding’ (2011) and BE (2013).

‘Different Gear, Still Standing’ reached no 3 in the UK, no 16 in Australia and no 31 in the USA. ‘BE’ peaked at no 2 in the UK, no 81 in Australia and failed to chart in the USA.

The only chart hit for the band was ‘The Roller’ at no 31 in the UK.

Gallagher made a short statement on Twitter to announce the demise of the band. “Beady Eye are no longer. Thanks for all your support”. LGx

manhatan transfer return after tim hauser death

Manhattan Transfer return after Tim Hauser death

When Tim Hauser passed away last week, the remaining members of the Manhattan Transfer vowed to go on as it is what Hauser would have wished.

On Thursday, the group will take the stage at the Palace Theatre in Manchester, NH with special guest Trist Curless. Curless toured with the Manhattan Transfer in late-2013 while Hauser was out after spinal surgery. He is a co-founder of the group m-pact and has worked as an audio engineer for groups such as Straight No Chaser and Take 6.

Tim Hauser's family has posted a message to the Manhattan Transfer Facebook page on their wish to install a memorial bench in Tim's name at the Los Angeles Arboretum & Botanical Gardens in Arcadia, CA. They've started a gofundme.com page to help defray the costs which has already raised almost $9,000 of the $12,500 goal in its first day.
A Memorial Bench for Tim Hauser

Tim Hauser was a man who lived his life to the fullest every single day. Hundreds of articles, thousands of shares, posts and comments from all of the world in this past week, spoke to us clearly that he was loved by many more people than we could ever imagine. He was a father, husband, brother, cousin, founder and creator of The Manhattan Transfer, singer, producer, first baseman, lefty, visionary, historian, car geek and beloved friend, (just to name a few).

We are so honored to invite you to be a part of this loving memorial, whether you are a family member, friend or a fan. The outpouring of sentiments and love from all over the globe was so heartwarming for the family. We truly felt it and were so comforted by all the loving messages and stories about Tim.

We are celebrating his life by installing a memorial bench and plaque in his honor in the gorgeous, lush Los Angeles Arboretum & Botanical Gardens in Arcadia, CA.

His final request was very simple, to return to nature.

You might also recognize this park because it was where the band actually filmed the video of one of their biggest hits, 'Soul Food to Go' which featured Tim.

We hope you can, in the future, take the time to come visit the beautiful spot we choose for Tim's memorial bench and remember him fondly. We know our family and friends will love spending time there.

The whole family thanks you for your support and loving involvement. We hope to reach our goal in a week and then place the order. No donation is too small. $1 will help and we appreciate anyone who wants to be a part of our tribute and lasting memory of Tim.

With heartfelt thanks and loving appreciation,
The Hauser Family

jack bruce of cream died at 71

Jack Bruce, legendary Cream bassist and singer, dies

 by WILL GROVES

Jack Bruce, singer, bassist and co-founder of '60s titans Cream has died aged 71, of liver disease.

Bruce's death was announced on his website and confirmed by Claire Singers, his publicist, who said "He died today at his home in Suffolk surrounded by his family."

His family have also issued a statement: "It is with great sadness that we, Jack's family, announce the passing of our beloved Jack: husband, father, granddad, and all round legend. The world of music will be a poorer place without him but he lives on in his music and forever in our hearts."

Glasgow-born

Bruce was born in Glasgow in 1943, and his musical ascent began when he won a cello and composition scholarship to the Royal Scottish Academy of Music.

Leaving the academy at 16, he relocated to London and joined seminal British R&B band Alexis Korner's Blues Inc. After further early-'60s stints in bands including Manfred Mann and John Mayall's Blues Breakers, he co-founded Cream with Eric Clapton and Ginger Baker in 1966.

The band split just two years later, but have sold 35 million albums to date, while Bruce went on to enjoy a long solo career, collaborating with a wide range of high-profile artists, including Frank Zappa, Ringo Starr and Gary Moore.

alvin stardust died at 72

Alvin Stardust Dead At 72

 by PAUL CASHMERE

Alvin Stardust has died at age 72 just weeks after announcing his comeback.

Alvin Stardust, real name Bernard Jewry, was a one-hit wonder with ‘My Coo Ca Choo’ in most parts of the world but in the UK he delivered 11 Top 40 hits. His 1974 UK hit ‘Jealous Mind’ was even bigger than 1973’s ‘My Coo Ca Choo’ in England, reaching no 1.

‘My Coo Ca Choo’ was a no 2 hit in the UK in 1973.

In a statement at his official website, Alvin Stardust confirmed his new album ‘Alvin’ would be released in November just week’s ago. “I am extremely delighted to announce that my new album is now finished and will be released at the beginning of November by Conehead Records.
”Alvin” is a new and exciting departure for me and I’m immensly proud of the finished product and the amazing work of Richard Scott and Scott Ralph of Daftdog Productions in recording and producing it,” he writes.

‘Alvin’ was produced by Richard Scott and Scott Ralph aka Daftdog who also co-wrote the songs with Alvin. Their credits include writing ‘Morning Sun’, ‘Deceptacon’ and ‘Won’t Do That’ for Robbie Williams along with his recent swing collaboration ‘Soda Pop’ with Michael Bublé.

“The chance came out of the blue. We got together for a one off try at writing something. I was blown away with the result. Rich and Scott are so very clever in both writing and the production. It was a no brainer that I should grab on to these great musos and crack on with more stuff. They have brought out a completely hidden side of me and I love the darker, swampy blues edge that we have found. It’s an exciting time. Who knows where it will lead? But it’s the best time I’ve had in years and it’s all for real,” he said.

Since you last heard of Alvin Stardust he has been busy working in UK stage productions like ‘Godspell’, ‘Chitty Chitty Bang Bang’ and ‘David Copperfield’.

Alvin Stardust was recently diagnosed with metastatic prostate cancer. He died at home. His wife and family were with him.
