johnny marr released easy money video

Johnny Marr shares video for 'Easy Money' - Watch!

Johnny Marr has shared the video for his new single, 'Easy Money'.

The song is the first to be taken from his second solo album, 'Playland', which is due for release on October 6. The record follows last year's 'The Messenger'. You can watch the video at the top of the page now, via Pitchfork.

Speaking about the themes of the song, Marr told Rolling Stone in a new interview that thinking about the pursuit of money led him to writing the song.

"I like the idea of sneaking a serious concern into the mainstream, disguised as a big pop tune," Marr said. "The riff was so catchy and infectious that I wanted it to be about something that appeared to be trite but was actually quite universal. Money is a preoccupation of everybody, and it took me quite a long time to write something that appeared to be simple. If you were to ask anybody in the City what they're after, essentially the root of it is money. It's the age-old thing of people thinking that it will make us happy."

The 'Playland' tracklisting is:

'Back In The Box'
'Easy Money'
'Dynamo'
'Candidate'
'25 Hours'
'The Trap'
'Playland'
'Speak Out Reach Out'
'Boys Get Straight'
'This Tension'
'Little King'

Johnny Marr tours throughout October. He will play:

Lincoln The Engine Shed (October 13)
Southend Cliffs Pavillion (14)
Bexhill De La Warr (15)
Wolverhampton Civic Hall (17)
Cardiff Great Hall (18)
Bournemouth O2 Academy (20)

Watch: The Official Video For Michael Jackson's "A Place With No Name"

If you think you hit more than a bit of America's A Horse With No Name in Michael Jackson's new single A Place With No Name, you wouldn't be wrong. Jackson admitted that the America classic was the inspiration for the "new" track which was recorded in 1998.

Here is the official video for the track, the second from Jackson's Xscape album. There may also be a bit of deja vu in the shots of Jackson used in the video. They had previously appeared in the video for his hit In the Closet.

The video was directed by Sam Bayer who also made such classics as Nirvana's Smells Like Teen Spirit and Robbie Williams' Angels.

Bob Dylan Treats Australia To Tempest Live

 by PAUL CASHMERE

Bob Dylan has returned to Australia with a completely new show showcasing songs from his most recent album ‘Tempest’ and the rebirth of his career.

Dylan was completely washed up and ready to retire in the 80s. In his biography ‘Chronicles’, Dylan wrote, “I’d been on an eighteen month tour with Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers. Tom was at the top of his game and I was at the bottom of mine”.

Dylan spent the next 10 years finding himself musically. The moment came with 1997′s ‘Time Out Of Mind’, a masterpiece of a Dylan album that awarded him three Grammy Awards including Album of the Year in 1998.

‘Time Out Of Mind’ marked a new era for Dylan who now concentrates musical on his works from 1997 and onwards in his live set.

The five albums ‘Time Out Of Mind’ (1997), ‘Love and Theft’ (2001), ‘Modern Times’ (2006), ‘Together Through Life’ (2009) and ‘Tempest’ (2012) contain some of Dylan’s greatest works.
