george michael talked about wham reunion

George Michael talks Wham! reunion

George Michael and Andrew Ridgeley 'talked about a Wham! reunion'.

George took part in a series of interviews to promote his single Feeling Good, which is a cover of Nina Simone's 1965 hit and will be released on August 11. The star revealed he has been in contact with his former bandmate, speaking to Andrew 'earlier this year'.

'He came round and cooked. We were talking about a Wham! reunion at Glastonbury in the fallow year,' he explained to Mojo mag via the British newspaper The Mirror.

George Michael and Andrew announced their decision to split in 1986 after selling over 25 million records and releasing hits such as Wake Me Up Before You Go-Go and Club Tropicana. But it seems George may regret parting ways with his former partner.
Q mag asked the singer what his biggest regret is.

'Splitting Wham!' he told Q mag via The Mirror. 'Also, not asking Kate Moss to join Wham!'

Feeling Good was written by Anthony Newley and Leslie Bricusse for the musical The Roar of the Greasepaint - The Smell of the Crowd. The song has been performed by Muse, Michael Buble and Cy Grant, as well as other artists.

In addition to the single, the Careless Whisper performer will also release a limited edition of Symphonica, which was first released in March, as a double gatefold vinyl format comprising 16 tracks on August 11.

The 51-year-old singer has sold more than 100 million records worldwide over the course of his career.

ted nugent cancel more shows

Ted Nugent Down Two More Shows Due to Remarks

There's a trend developing here. Ted Nugent has had two more shows cancelled from his schedule due to his wild and often controversial comments.

The first happened earlier this week when his August 4 date at the Coeur d'Alene Casino due to what the Coeur d'Alene Tribal Council said was racist comments. On Friday, the Emerald Queen Casino in Tacoma, WA followed suit but, this time, cancelling two dates on August 2 and 3.

The Puyallup Tribe, which runs the casino, said that they had received threats from community members pointing out Nugent's "racist and hate-filled remarks." Tribal council VP Lawrence W. LaPointe said "The first amendment gives people the right to free speech, but I think racism is intolerable and not acceptable here. We’ve been getting lots of complaints from the community and other organizations. I don’t want to take away his right to say what he wants to say, but we don’t need it here."

While Nugent has not commented on the latest pulled shows, he did talk to Radio.com on Wednesday about the Iowa case, saying that he is the target of of an "army assigned to destroy Ted Nugent. To call me a racist is a clear act of desperation. Because everybody knows I’m not a racist! My [former] bass player Johnny Gunnel happens to be a black guy. My [former] bass player Marco Mendoza was born in Mexico! Are you kiddin’ me? I pay tribute to Martin Luther King in my songs, I’ve always said my music is a direct result of Chuck Berry and Bo Diddley, and all the black musical heroes of my life."

There is an ongoing debate on whether Nugent's comments are, indeed racist. Many of his barbs have been shot at President Obama whom he has called a "subhuman mongrel", later retracting his comment while, maintaining that he believes the president was a "liar" who was shredding the constitution.

stevie nicks to release new album

Stevie Nicks to release new album this autumn

Stevie Nicks has announced that she will release a double album this autumn.

24 Karat Gold: Songs From The Vault will be released on October 7. The album is made up of songs that were mostly written by the Fleetwood Mac member between 1969 and 1987 but were recorded recently in Nashville and Los Angeles. The album is produced by Nicks, Dave Stewart and Waddy Wachtel.

Speaking about the album, Nicks commented in a statement: "Most of these songs were written between 1969 and 1987. One was written in 1994 and one in 1995. I included them because they seemed to belong to this special group. Each song is a lifetime. Each song has a soul. Each song has a purpose. Each song is a love story… They represent my life behind the scenes, the secrets, the broken hearts, the broken-hearted and the survivors."

Meanwhile, Fleetwood Mac recently said that they have almost finished eight songs for a possible new album. The recent recordings feature Christine McVie, who announced she was rejoining the band in January, although Nicks was not present at the sessions owing to other commitments.

The band's guitarist Lindsey Buckingham said in an interview with Billboard: "The chemistry was just unbelievable. We're all very excited about the new music. Knowing me, I'm going to be pushing hard for a double album."

Minus Nicks, Fleetwood Mac spent two months at The Village Recorder studio in Los Angeles, working in the same room in which they recorded their 1979 album 'Tusk'. Despite the eight tracks being "75 per cent done", the sessions will be put on hold as McVie returns to the UK where she lives. The band are scheduled to begin rehearsals for their world tour this month, meaning it’s unlikely a new album will be released before 2015. Titles for the new songs include "Carnival Begin" and "Red Sun".
