The suspense 1972 film 'Deliverance' has, probably, only one scene that quite joyful to watch. It was a duel between traveller's guitar and the local boy's banjo. This pre-Crossroads music duel was performed by Eric Weissberg and Steve Mandel, and later became the no.2 hit in 1973. It won the Grammy Award for Best Country Instrumental Performance in 1974. It was a brief moment in the music career of Eric Weissberg.

The Academy Award winner 1973's 'The Sting' was surely the masterpiece of producer Julia Phillips. Its success also paved way to the popularity of its soundtrack, which top the billboard album chart the following year. This long-running musical variety show had been a showcase of soul and R&B music for 35 years. Not only it presented famous artists, the show's theme was also great. In season 2, the producers decided to replace the series theme from Bill Haley's "Rock Around the Clock" with the work of pop duo Pratt & McClain. Barry DeVorzon's music piece "Cotton's Theme" was first used in 1971 film 'Bless the Beasts and Children', and later in soap opera 'The Young and the Restless'. It was widely known as "Nadia's Theme" after it was featured as background music for the gymnast Nadia Comaneci's routine shots during the 1976 Summer Olympics. It was DeVorzon's only masterpiece.

However, any of Grecco's next efforts went nowhere and she quietly vanish from the scene.

Rhythm Heritage was an L.A. disco-funk studio group formed in 1975. Their works were mostly unknown to the public. They got a big break in 1976 when their singles of the opening theme from an American crime-fighting series S.W.A.T. went to no.1 spot on Billboard Hot 100 chart. But they could not catch up with the song’s success and disbanded in 1979.

John Sebastian was well-known as a leader of the popular 1960s band, the Lovin' Spoonful. He went on a solo career after the band split up in 1968, but it didn't go so well. He catched a big break in 1976 when his performance on a theme song "Welcome Back" from the TV series "Welcome Back, Kotter" topped the Billboard chart. That was his only hit in his solo career.
