The band was a brainchild of John and Andy Pickles, a father and son UK DJ tag-team. Their first singles "Swing the Mood" was a medley of several popular songs from the rock&roll era. It went straight to no.1 in UK and no.11 in US. They were the third band in UK history to have all their first three singles topped UK chart - but never again in US.
Tommy Boys Records is one of the hip-hop/dance music specialist label. In the mid 1990s, they started releasing the 'Jock Jams' series, which is the collections of 1980s and 1990s mixes. Unexpectedly, on the third volume, the megamix titled as 'Jock Jam Megamix' became a radio favourites and the singles became a surprise no.31 hit on Billboard chart. None of their subsequents became another hits.
