Falco, born Johann Hans Hölzel, was probably the most successful Austrian pop artist ever. His US success came in 1986, when his classical/synth pop singles "Rock Me Amadeus" topped the chart on both side of the Atlantic. He became the first German-speaking artist ever to top the US Pop chart. It was Falco's only big success in US till his death in 1998.
This Guinean muscian was famous for his adaptation of West Africa's music into the modern music. His most famous work was "Yé Ké Yé Ké", which became a big hit all over Europe in 1988. This catchy dance song was undoubtly one of best-known African song in the Western world. Kante continued to record new materials, but none could match the success of "Yé Ké Yé Ké".
Kaoma was a French pop group with a Brazilian lead vocal, Loalwa Braz, formed in late 1980s. They immediately had their first (and their last) big hit with the cover of Brazilian singer Márcia Ferreira's 1986 dance hit "Chorando se foi". Titled as "Lambada", the song topped the chart in many countries around the globe and became a Top5 hit in UK.

So far, none of his following efforts came close to the success of his first singles and maintained his status as one hit wonders.
A Spanish music duo Antonio Romero Monge and Rafael Ruíz, aka Los Del Rio, was a Latin musicians who shook the world with one of the hottest dance craze in the 1990s. The remix of their "Macarena" topped the Hot 100 chart in 1995. The song's popularity has secured the duo's status as one of the greatest one hit wonders of all time.
Delinquent Habits is one of the first Latin hip-hop acts formed in 1991. Their first album, which blended funk with traditional Latin rhythms, was a hit and sold over a million copies worldwide. The Spanish-speaking hip-hop "Tres Delinquentes" became a no.35 on Billboard Hot 100 in 1996. So far, it is still their only chart hit.
Wes Madiko is a cameroonian musician who appeared in the Western world for a brief period in the late 1990s. His debut singles "Alane" was a joyful dance song that broke into UK Top20 chart, as well as no.1 in several Europe countries in 1997. Sadly, his following works went nowhere and he quietly disappeared by 2000.
David Loubega, better known as Lou Bega, was an Italian/ Ugandan artist from Germany since 1988. He was known, solely, for his international smash hit "Mambo No.5". This pointless Cuban dance became a worldwide smash hit, including in US (although no official singles was issued). Unfortunately, all his follow-ups unabled to carry on this success.
The Spanish all-sister singing group Las Ketchup began their career with the flamenco-Europop fusion singles "Aserejé" in 2002. The Spanglish version, titles as "The Ketchup Song", became a international hit and topped the UK chart, as well as other 26 countries worldwide. Since then, they released 2 more albums but still could not create another big hit.
Rajinder Singh Rai (AKA Panjabi MC) is an English-Indian musician from Coventry, England. His big break came in 2002 when his cover of bhangra song "Mundian To Bach Ke", became an international success. The remix version by an American rapper Jay-Z was released in US and climbed to no.33 on Billboard chart in 2003. It is still his only big hit to date.
